TikTok Ban 101

What Ban?

    In case you have not been in tune with any new or politics lately, or maybe have been living under a rock, Some big shots in the government are getting riled up about the very popular social media app; TikTok. These government officials have gone so far to produce a bill, which in the contents includes a ban on TikTok. 

Why Do They Want a Ban

    The reason for this ban is because many people in the government are worried about privacy and security breaches within the TikTok app. More exclusively, they have raising concerns about TikTok's ties to China and what they might be doing with our data. These worries and concerns seem to be out of nowhere, as this used to be a problem in the past when past president Donald Trump almost banned TikTok for these same reasons, but did not because the app has since been fixed and updated. Many also have also been to note that what would it matter if TikTok information was stolen, what can these people do with random users' TikTok drafts. 

What Now?

    The app TikTok, has been defending itself from all these claims clarifying to its users and everyone else that their privacy is safe and there will be no kind of security breaches, much less any incriminating involvement with china. However, the TikTok ban bill still continues to make its way through the bureaucratic maze, so only time will tell the fate of TikTok.
